NEW YORK — The Center for Franciscan Spirituality and Spiritual Direction recently gave a day of recollection for the Presbyterian Ministers Association of New York at the San Damiano Hall of St. Francis of Assisi Parish here.
Led by Tony LoGalbo, OFM, and Stephen Mimnaugh, OFM, the May 16 event exposed 26 Presbyterian ministers to Franciscan spirituality and the life of St. Francis. Topics included, “Attraction of St. Francis of Assisi for People of Today,” “St. Francis and Prayer,” and a “Prayer Journey.” Mary Petrosky, FMM, was also a presenter.
The day began and ended with prayer services, and included a prayer walk orientation by Stephen. Participants were also given a list of books about St. Francis.
The Center for Franciscan Spirituality and Spiritual Direction at St. Francis of Assisi Church in Manhattan promotes Christian living in the Franciscan tradition as found in the writings and other works of spiritual masters such as Saints Francis and Clare of Assisi, St. Anthony of Padua, St. Bonaventure and other Franciscans.
