Postulants from Two Provinces Spend Holy Week at Mt. Irenaeus

HNP Communications In the Headlines

WEST CLARKSVILLE, N.Y. — The postulants of Holy Name Province spent Holy Week at the Mt. Irenaeus Franciscan Mountain Retreat with postulants of the Immaculate Conception Province.

The trip  was the result of  a conversation that Ronald Pecci, director of Holy Name’s pre-novitiate program, shown at right in photo, had with Rick Martignetti, the Immaculate Conception Province postulant director, in which they discussed collaborating on some programming next fall.

“Rick was open and eager for such collaboration and asked about joining our postulants for this Holy Week,” Ron said.  “The friars at Mt. Irenaeus encouraged the collaboration and welcomed the postulants. The time was well spent by each group.”

Ron and Rick are investigating other possible collaborations for the future.

Immaculate Conception Province’s postulancy program is located in Orangeville, Ontario Canada.  In the fall, it will relocate to Youngstown, Ohio.

Dominic Monti, HNP’s secretary for formation and studies, said that “this is the first time in quite a few years that Holy Name postulants have collaborated in this manner with other provinces.”
