Poor Clares Celebrate 100 Years

BOSTON — The Poor Clare Community in Jamaica Plains, Mass., celebrated its 100th anniverary during the weekend of Sept. 16 -17.

On Sat. Sept. 16, Cardinal Sean O’Malley, OFM Cap, presided at a liturgy which a good number of friars from St. Anthony Shrine attended.

The following day, Dominic Monti presided and preached at the Eucharst, and also gave a conference in the afternoon to the 23 members of the community, as well as to sisters from several other Poor Clare monasteries who had come to join in the celebration.
