Peacemaking in the 21st Century

HNP Communications Around the Province

NEW YORK — Family, friends and partners-in-ministry of the seven friars commemorating jubilees of profession in 2011 will gather at St. Francis of Assisi Church in Manhattan in June for the Province’s annual celebration.

The 2011 event is scheduled for June 30 at 5:30 p.m.

In addition, the Province’s Justice, Peace and Integrity of Creation Office will be hosting its annual JPIC Local Contacts retreat this year at the St. Francis Retreat Center in Ringwood, N.J.

Spaces for the June 10 to 12 gathering are limited, so Russell Testa, director of the JPIC Office, encourages early registration. Additional information is available on a flyer.

Other upcoming Province events include:

• March 19: Evangelizing Youth and Young Adults workshop at San Damiano Hall in New York City
• May 21: Ordination of priests, Holy Name of Jesus Church in New York City
• Aug. 27: Solemn profession of vows at St. Francis of Assisi Church in New York City

The 2011 Ecumenical Advocacy Days — an event attended by HNP friars and partners-in-ministry each year — is slated for March 25 to 28 at the DoubleTree Hotel Crystal City in Arlington, Va. This year’s theme is “Development, Security and Economic Justice: What’s Gender Got to Do with It?” Additional information and online registration is available on the EAD website. Those who register prior to Feb. 19 will receive a discount.

Details about Provincial events can be found on the events page of the HNP website.
