The Catholic parish has been, and continues to be, an important place of ministry for us. As Franciscan friars, we believe that our life of prayer, the witness of our fraternity, our evangelizing spirit, and our service to the poor enable us to create a unique type of faith community that makes an important contribution to the local diocese.
Like other Catholic parishes, the Franciscan parish offers Sunday and weekday Masses, the sacraments, and visits to the sick and dying. The parish also offers a variety of programs and services that reach out to the poor, the marginalized, and the alienated members of our society. These ministries vary from place to place – the Franciscan approach to parish ministry is defined by the need of the local community, but always focused on expressing solidarity with the least of our brothers and sisters.
