ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — Though often associated with death and preparation for winter, fall has been a season of light and life for Our Lady of Guadalupe Province.

The fall issue of the province’s newsletter, Padres’ Trail, announces several new beginnings — new postulants, a new novitiate class, new assignments for friars and even a new editor for the newsletter.

The current issue also includes brief biographies of the four OLG postulants, who range in age from 23 to 36 and hail from Mexico and Texas. The men live at the province’s mission center at St. Michael’s in Arizona, with their directors Fr. Patrick Schafer, OFM, and Fr. Edwardo Espinosa, OFM.

The August issue of Padres’ Trail includes reports and photos from the 2011 All Province Assembly held May 29 to June 1 in Rio Rancho, N.M. The 10-page issue also includes articles about the July ordination of Fr. Joseph Gonsalves, OFM, and solemn profession of Br. Erasmo Romer, OFM.

New editor Fr. Joseph Nelson, OFM, explained: “We plan to publish the Padres’ Trail four times a year.” The winter issue will come out during December or January.
