Mt. Irenaeus Announces New Hires

HNP Communications Around the Province

WEST CLARKSVILLE, N.Y. — The Mt. Irenaeus Franciscan Mountain Retreat here has hired two new staff members to develop programs and volunteers, and to raise funds.

John Kennedy, an alumnus of nearby St. Bonaventure University, is coordinator of development and volunteers, and Emily Michaelson, a 2007 graduate of Siena College in Loudonville, N.Y., is an assistant and intern for Mountain Ministries to St. Bonaventure University. Both will have offices on the SBU campus.

Daniel Riley, OFM, director of Mt. Irenaeus, said Kennedy, a Buffalo native, demonstrates a “great desire to benefit the Mountain.”

“He is an especially affable young man, outgoing, full of energy and good ideas, and open to others.” Dan said.

Michaelson, who recently completed a year at the Province’s Franciscan Volunteer Ministry, lends the  “richness of her youth, her vitality and faith, and her graciousness of person to the efforts of our students and others here in outreach to the SBU community,” Dan said in the summer 2008 Mt. Irenaeus newsletter. Michaelson will assist Mt. Irenaeus in its ministry to SBU.

Kennedy started his job in June. Michaelson begins in August.
