December is a busy month for members of the Province’s Ministry of the Word who have been providing Advent missions for churches in a variety of locations.
Raphael Bonanno recently returned to his home in Boston, Mass., after leading an Advent mission for the St. John Neumann Church in the diocese of Las Vegas, Nev.
During the Christmas season, according to Raphael, some MOW preachers will be offering retreats for nuns. Raphael serves as co-chair of the ministry with John Anglin who resides in St. Petersburg.
The 12-member Ministry of the Word team will be participating in their annual meeting Feb. 10 to 15. Guest speakers will include Dominic Monti, HNP’s Provincial Vicar.
The ministry’s mission, according to its Web site, is to bring the “Good News of Jesus Christ “ to people throughout the Eastern United States and Canada through parish missions, days of recollection, and retreats. The MOW teams comprise both friars and lay people; some of the friars preach also in Spanish and Portuguese.
