Sept. 17, 2015 — The Provincial Council announced that the post-novitiate formation program would move to Chicago. (During the last few weeks, the student friars have been settling into St. Joseph Friary, the interprovincial post-novitiate friary in Chicago, where they will live while attending Catholic Theological Union.)
Sept. 22 to 27, 2015 — Friars and their partners-in-ministry joyfully welcomed Pope Francis to the United States as he visited Washington, D.C., New York City and Philadelphia.

Sept. 14, 1996 — Holy Cross Parish in the Bronx, N.Y., observed its 75th anniversary.
Sept. 23, 1996 — Ronald Pecci, OFM, celebrated a Mass of Thanksgiving on the 50th anniversary of the founding of Bishop Timon High School in Buffalo, N.Y. This year, the school community is commemorating its 70th anniversary with a variety of events.

Sept. 3, 1991 — The first of the Province’s major celebrations of its 90th anniversary was held at Holy Name of Jesus Church in New York City. Another celebration was held on Sept. 6 at St. Camillus Church, Silver Spring, Md., a third was held from Sept. 13 to 14 at St. Bonaventure University in Allegany, N.Y., and a fourth was held in New England on Sept. 22 at St. Joseph’s Church in Winsted, Conn.

Sept. 26, 1986 — The current friary at St. Bonaventure University was dedicated. The old friary became student housing and was renamed Doyle Hall, after the late Mathias Doyle, OFM, who served as university president for 15 years.
