The Provincial Office has become aware of several job openings — one at a parish in Wood-Ridge, N.J., one at Siena College and one at St. Bonaventure University. A volunteer position at a parish in Durham, N.C., is also available.
Parishes
Assumption Parish in Wood-Ridge, N.J., where Richard Mucowski, OFM, is pastor, is searching for a new director of music ministry. The individual “must meet the ethical guidelines for service in the Archdiocese as well as complete the ‘Protecting God’s Children’ certification and background check,” according to the bulletin.
The candidate should have a degree in music, a minimum of three years of experience as an accompanist, and be able to train cantors for weekend Masses, liturgical services, sacramental ceremonies and seasonal events. The salary and benefits will commensurate with experience.

In Durham, a bilingual (Spanish and English) volunteer is needed to fill in for the parish receptionist at Immaculate Conception Parish, where Lawrence Hayes, OFM, is pastor. Francis Di Spigno, OFM, is looking for a program manager to work in St. Bonaventure University’s University Ministries in Allegany, N.Y., where he is the executive director of faith formation, worship and ministries. The successful candidate will manage the operations of several programs including the Warming House, the nation’s oldest student-run soup kitchen. This also includes recruitment, selection, training and supervision of student coordinators, mentors and community volunteers; facilitating reflection groups and sessions with students, monitoring budgets and expenses, coordinating fundraising, maintaining all mandated data and records, and ensuring order and compliance with all related contracts and leases, according to the job description.

Siena College in Loudonville, N.Y., where Kevin Mullen, OFM, is president, has an opening for the director of the Damietta Cross-Cultural Center. The director is responsible for facilitating the development and coordination of education, social, and support programs that enhance the diverse culture at the school, according to the advertisement posted online. The director will work with various college offices to promote an active cross-cultural appreciation and respect grounded in, and supported by, the Franciscan and Catholic traditions.
A successful candidate will have a master’s degree in student affairs, education, cross-cultural studies, or a related field; a minimum of three years or more experience of progressively responsible experience in administration of student affairs and cross-cultural programs; an understanding of, and support for, the values and perspectives of a Franciscan and Catholic liberal arts college, and demonstrated ability to work with broad segments of a college community-faculty, staff, students.
