Midwest Province Launches Redesigned Site

HNP Communications Franciscan World

ST. LOUIS — Sacred Heart Province, the OFM province headquartered in Missouri, recently redesigned its Web site. The new home page features illustrations of St. Francis and animated birds on a brick-like background with a welcome theme, “Go rebuild with peace, with faith, with community.”

Visitors to the site can browse a variety of sections including history, Franciscans today, what we do, get involved and friar events. The home page offers a link to a message from the provincial minister, Michael Perry, OFM.

Fr. Michael greets visitors to the site saying, “It is in this spirit that we welcome you to the Web site of our province. We invite you to come to know the story of Christ, of Francis, and of the Franciscans of our province so that you might also experience peace, joy and hope and join us in this spiritual and human adventure.”

The April 30 issue of Around the Province, Sacred Heart’s weekly e-newsletter that can be found on the Web site, focuses on the International Chapter of Mats. Two SHP friars, Edward Boren, OFM, and Robert Sieg, OFM, shared their observations about the gathering. Fr. Edward sais he had never been to Rome or Assisi, and Fr. Robert had never been overseas prior to this trip.

The newsletter also included information about upcoming retreats, prayer requests and friars from the province making news.

Sacred Heart Province, with 240 professed friars, ministers in Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Missouri, Minnesota, Ohio, Tennessee, Texas and Wisconsin.
