ALLEGANY, N.Y. —  A leaf has been engraved and placed on the Tree of Life at St. Bonaventure Church to commemorate the 150th anniversary of nearby St. Bonaventure University. The leaf is inscribed as follows:

St. Bonaventure University, 150 Years of Teaching Franciscan Values 1858 – 2008

Sr. Margaret Carney, president of St. Bonaventure University, sent the following thank you note to Richard Husted, OFM, pastor, and members of the St. Bonaventure Parish: “I write today on behalf of the St. Bonaventure University community to share with you our warmest thanks for commemorating the University’s Sesquicentennial with a leaf on the Tree of Life in Memorial Hall. What a wonderful way to give thanks for the Franciscan history we share in common. Please be assured that your gift is greatly appreciated.”

Sr. Margaret’s note appeared in the Aug. 10 parish bulletin of the Allegany parish.
