Kevin Mullen Takes Office as Siena President

LOUDONVILLE, NY — Kevin Mullen began his new position as president of Siena College on June 1.  His first official function was participating in the college’s alumni reunion festivities June 1 to 3.  Kevin was graduated from Siena in 1975.

Other friar alumni who participated in the reunion include:

  • Resident historian Dan Dwyer, ‘74, who shared the history of the Franciscan friars establishment in New York’s Capital Region and the founding of Siena College.
  •  Ken Paulli, ’82, who welcomed alumni to a special Mass celebrated in honor of the 25th reunion of his class.

Also at the reunion, Dr. Tom Bulger discussed his new course, “Franciscanism and Literature.” He highlighted how Siena’s emphasis on the teachings of Saint Francis influenced the writings of William Kennedy, Siena class of 1949. He also looked at how St. Francis was portrayed by such respected writers as Dante and Shakespeare.

Kevin ‘s inauguration as president will take place in a formal ceremony in early October.
