LOUDONVILLE, N.Y. — Kevin Mackin is man of the month in New York’s Capital region, as various groups pay tribute to his accomplishments.

Siena College campus folks gathered for a friendly roast on May 2 that was  spearheaded by students and complete with imitations, a student rollerblading/rap skit, a slide show with memorable scenes (including video of Kevin riding a mechanical bull at this spring’s student Siena Fest), and an appreciation plaque.

During the college’s Leadership and Involvement Awards ceremony, the college’s vice president for student affairs, Dr. Maryellen Gilroy, shown in photo with Kevin, surprised him with a VP’s Special Recognition Award.

Recognition for Kevin’s efforts during his tenure as president these past 11 years indicates something of the breadth of his work. He has been awarded  the Marketer-Executive-Citizen Award from the Sales & Marketing Executives International Eastern New York Chapter; the Teresian Service Excellence Award; and the Dr. James M. Bell Humanitarian Award from the Parsons Child and Family Center.

He is being inducted into the Tech Valley Business Hall of Fame on May 16, with a portrait to be displayed at Albany International Airport.

A May 17 reception hosted by the Siena College Board of Trustees, who have invited various supporters of the popular president, is shaping up to be the biggest single fundraising event in Siena’s history, with proceeds going to the Fr. Kevin E. Mackin, OFM, Scholarship for Siena students.  The cocktail reception for people whose lives Kevin has touched will be held at the Sarazan Student Center at the college

During commencement weekend May 19 to 20, Kevin will preside at various fetes and will provide a televised welcome.
