“You have been told, O man, what is good, and what the LORD requires of you: Only to do the right and to love goodness, and to walk humbly with your God.”
As Franciscans, we are called to follow the Gospel of Jesus Christ and the actions of our patron, Francis of Assisi, who was both an instrument of peace and an instrument of justice.
Like Francis, we are called to live the social justice mission of the Church, and we are challenged to call on people of good will everywhere as well as today’s social institutions to live that same justice.
The following pages contain writings and reflections on an array of social justice issues and attempt to offer a greater awareness and a deeper understanding of their importance and relevance through Franciscan eyes.
