NEW YORK — The Province is planning to honor with a special Mass its 14 members who this year are marking their 50th and 25th anniversaries as friars.
The jubilarians, who work at the Province’s ministries along the East Coast as well as at locations outside the United States, will be recognized at a 5:30 p.m. liturgy celebrated by Provincial Minister Kevin Mullen, OFM, at St. Francis of Assisi Church on West 31st Street.
Friars marking 50 years since their simple profession are:
Peter Ahlheim, OFM, of Butler, N.J.
Michael Duffy, OFM, of Philadelphia
Alfonso Guzmán, OFM, of San Juan, Puerto Rico
Ignatius Harding, OFM, of La Paz, Bolivia
Vianney Justin, OFM, of Buffalo, N.Y.
Gerard Lee, OFM, of Loudonville, N.Y.
Daniel Riley, OFM, of West Clarksville, N.Y.
Alan Thomas, OFM, of St. Petersburg, Fla.
Kevin Tortorelli, OFM, of New York City

Last year, 750 years of witness and service were celebrated at the 2015 jubilee event.
