Jubilee Celebration Set for June 24

NEW YORK — Eighteen friars who are marking major anniversaries of profession this year will be honored June 24 at a special Mass at St. Francis of Assisi Church on West 31st Street. The Province’s annual jubilee celebration of friars commemorating 50 and 25 years as professed Franciscans will include a 5:30 p.m. liturgy. The event will recognize 750 years of Franciscan service.

Friars marking their golden jubilees are:
     Brian Cullinane, OFM, of Boston
     Xavier De La Huerta, OFM, of Philadelphia
     Thomas Ennis, OFM, of Ringwood, N.J.
     Glenn Humphrey, OFM, of St. Michaels, Ariz.
     Christopher Keenan, OFM, of New York City
     James Patrick Kelly, OFM, of Hartford, Conn.
     Karl Koenig, OFM, of Philadelphia
     Dominic Monti, OFM, of Allegany, N.Y.
     James Nero, OFM, of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.
     Andrew Reitz, OFM, of New York City
     Xavier Seubert, OFM, of New York City
     Patrick Sieber, OFM, of Philadelphia

Those marking 25 years as friars are:
     David Blake, OFM, of Allegany, N.Y.
     Kevin Kriso, OFM, of West Clarksville, N.Y.
     Kevin McGoff, OFM, of El Cajon, Calif.
     William McIntyre, OFM, of Durham, N.C.
     Khoa Nguyen, OFM, of Cromwell, Conn.
     Christopher Posch, OFM, of Wilmington, Del.

Printed invitations will be sent to the jubilarians by the Provincial Secretary Michael Harlan, OFM, for use in inviting family members  to the June 24 celebration.
