ALLEGANY, N.Y. – John “Jack” Coffey, an affiliate of the Province and head chef at the friary at St. Bonaventure University, will retire after 45 years of service. The friars will host a cocktail reception at the friary on May 8 to honor Jack and his many years of service.
Jack was also honored at the Annual Recognition Ceremony, held April 4, when St. Bonaventure University honored four employees who are retiring, as well as other employees who have multiple years of service to the university.
Also retiring from the University this year: David Flood, OFM, lecturer in the School of Franciscan Studies, after eight years of full-time service; William Wehmeyer, professor of English, after 42 years of service; and Paul Wood, professor of modern languages, after 35 years of service.
Dan Riley was among those honored for 30 years of service to the university. Peter Schneible was honored for 20 years of service, and Michael Blastic, OFM Conv., was honored for 10 years of service.
