WASHINGTON — As thousands of people from around the country prepare to gather next week to protest abortion, the Franciscan Action Network invites pro-life advocates to join FAN for the annual March for Life on Jan. 23.
According to FAN’s Jan. 9 e-letter, Franciscans “from all three orders of the Franciscan Family” will participate in this annual event that marks the 39th anniversary of the 1973 Supreme Court decision Roe v. Wade which made abortion legal. Patrick Carolan, FAN director, invites interested participants to “look for a banner showing the FAN logo, a San Damiano cross, in front of the Capital building.”
The march begins with a rally at noon on the National Mall and ends at the U.S. Supreme Court building.
In past years, representatives of HNP ministries — including friars and partners-in-ministry from Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey, and New York — have participated in the March for Life.
