CANTERBURY, Kent — The Franciscan International Study Center (FISC) will commemorate the 800th anniversary of the Franciscan Order through a series of talks, devotions and Masses, beginning June 13 at Our Lady of the Angels Church in Erith, England.

The sixth edition of FISC News, dated May 2009, includes a 2009 to 2010 events timetable, as well as descriptions of programs, including:
• Sabbatical program
• Recent accreditation by the British accreditation council
• ExCorde program speakers in June and October

The center, according to its Web site, is a Franciscan Christian cultural and learning site, teaching theology and Franciscan studies that lead to undergraduate, graduate and research degrees. It accepts both religious and lay students. Its motto, “Holiness and Learning,” exemplifies spiritual and community life, along with academic excellence.
