NEW YORK — The friars of the Province of the Immaculate Conception, headquartered in the Little Italy section of New York City, are reading about both Franciscan formation milestones and a pair of new communication leaders.
In an e-newsletter released earlier this month, the IC Province reported on the first profession of vows of 13 provinces, two of whom are members of Immaculate Conception. The priestly ordinations of three friars were described in the spring 2013 of IC News in an article titled “Three Ordinations, Two Ceremonies, One Grace-filled Month.”
The Aug. 9 issue also announced that Fr. Alvin Te, OFM, and Fr. Thomas Washburn, OFM, have been appointed co-directors of communications and that “with the return of IC News, our hope is to keep you connected and informed about all of the good news taking place through the ministries of our fraternities.”
Both Fr. Alvin and Fr. Tom will be participating in the annual meeting of the English-speaking Conference communicators. The 2013 gathering is being held next month in San Antonio.
The second issue, distributed Aug. 23, included a message from Provincial Minister Fr. Primo Piscitello, OFM, as well as announcements about an award, a friar death, two new novices and ministry opportunities.
