Transitions

HNP Communications Friar News

The Provincial Administration has announced new assignments for two friars.

Henry Fulmer, OFM, has been appointed guardian of St. Joseph Parish Friary in Anderson, S.C., the regional friary for Georgia and South Carolina, effective Feb. 15.

Ignatius Smith, OFM, is now serving as administrator of St. Joseph Parish in Anderson, effective Feb. 15.

Two men have left the Province’s initial formation program.

Alexis Alvarez chose to withdraw from the HNP postulant program after the intersession in January. He feels that the Lord is calling him to another form of Christian discipleship.

After a prayerful and well-guided process of discernment, Daniel Beckham has withdrawn from the Franciscan Interprovincial Novitiate. “He did so with much peace and with much gratitude to Holy Name Province for his year and a half with us, which he describes as ‘a period of immense growth for me — both spiritually and personally,’” said Provincial Vicar Lawrence Hayes, OFM. “Even as he continues on his life journey, Daniel said, ‘I will always have the heart of a Franciscan.’

“We wish Alexis and Daniel God’s blessings at this time of transition,” Lawrence added.
