NEW YORK — In what was called a highlight of the province’s centenary year, three Immaculate Conception Province friars were ordained to the priesthood last month.
The Mass took place in the presence of family, friends and friars on April 24 at St. Anthony Church in New York City, according to a recent provincial newsletter.
Archbishop Celestino Migliore, Apostolic Nuncio to the United Nations, was the ordaining bishop as now Fathers Christopher Gaffrey, OFM, Giacomo La Selva, OFM, and Alvin Te, OFM, became priests. A photo of the newly-ordained with the archbishop and with Fr. Robert Campagna, OFM, provincial minister of the IC Province, is included in the May 8 e-letter.
