NEW YORK, N.Y. — Holy Name Parish will sponsor its fifth Annual March for Peace on Jan. 15. It will begin at 2:00 p.m. in front of the church at West 96thStreet at Amsterdam Avenue, will continue for approximately two miles visiting three houses of worship en route and ending at Holy Name.
Speaking at the march’s conclusion will be members of a Long Island, N.Y., family who received a home from Habitat for Humanity, as well as members of Grandmas Against the War, according to Michael Tyson, who is leading the march. Performances will be offered by the Peace Choir which comprises people from various neighborhood churches, and the Holy Name children’s choir.
Pastors will share some excerpts of speeches by Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., Mike added.
