NEW YORK — The Adult Faith Formation Committee of Holy Name of Jesus Church here is beginning the new year with a program of reflections about St. Francis’ love of creation.
All are welcome to the Canticle of Creation program tonight from 7 to 8:30 p.m. during which Sr. Margaret Holden, Franciscan Sister of Peace, will discuss the Canticle of Creation and the art that it inspired. The program will be held in the lower chapel of St. Mary of the Angels at Holy Name Church, West 96th Street at Broadway.
The event will include reflections on St. Francis’ love of all creation through his Canticle and the art it inspired. Participants will translate reflections into practical ways to continue his love and care for the earth and all her creatures. Sr. Margaret is a popular spiritual director, retreat minister, and creator of Canticle Ministry, a Franciscan Ministry of Peacemaking. Light refreshments will be served.
On Jan. 21, Holy Name Church will hold the sixth annual Ecumenical March for Peace.
The march, at 2 P.M. on Martin Luther King Jr. Day, will proceed to West End Presbyterian Church, Ascension Church, Anche Chesed Synagogue, and return to Holy Name Church where a prayer service will be held. Interested participants should gather at Holy Name on the corner of Amsterdam Avenue
