HNP Website Experiences Growth With Addition of Seasonal Resources

Maria Hayes Around the Province

Information about the Franciscan world and an expanded spiritual resources page are among recent supplements that have been uploaded to the HNP website.

In the beginning of April, the “Spiritual Resources” page in the Communications section of the website underwent several changes. Several documents were uploaded to the Seasonal Resources portion of the page and categorized under the following headings: Liturgical Guides, Meditations, and Reflections by Friars.

Each section will be updated as new materials are acquired. Friars and their partners-in-ministry are encouraged to check the pages frequently and make the HNP Communications Office aware of materials that would be most useful to them.

Last month, Provincial Vicar Dominic Monti, OFM, authored a new page in the Who We Are section titled “Other Franciscans.” The page, which describes Franciscans who are not members of the First or Second Order, includes information about the Third Order Regular and the Secular Franciscans.

Other pages in the “Who We Are” section — “Franciscan Friars” and “St. Clare and Her Sisters”  — were updated by Dominic to improve their clarity.

Several other sections of the HNP website have been updated recently. They include:
•  The vocation page of the site which now includes the first issue of Be A Franciscan, the Vocation Office’s new e-newsletter. Archived issues can be found in the Join Us section of the website
• The Justice and Peace page is now promoting the need for gun control through the news box, called “JPIC Now,” that was added earlier this year.
• The home page, which shows a new assortment of photos representing Franciscan life and ministry. Among the friars currently pictured are John Anglin, OFM, William Beaudin, OFM, Thomas Gallagher, OFM, Cidouane Joseph, OFM, and Michael Reyes, OFM.

The HNP Communications Advisory Committee will be meeting next week to discuss methods to further enhance the Province’s website along with its other communication tools.
