NEW YORK – 2018 was a historic year for Holy Name Province. After years of discussion regarding the future of Franciscan life in the United States, the Province voted to unify with five other OFM provinces. This momentous decision will result in the revitalization of Franciscan life for the nearly 1,000 friars who will form the new entity.
But life in the Province did not stand still after the results of the vote were announced. Friars celebrated the personal milestones of many of their brothers, including ordinations and professions, novice receptions, and retirements. The Communications Office covered these and a wide variety of other topics. Below are the 25 most popular articles that were published last year.
Data used to determine the top stories was collected from Google Analytics.
The Communications Office strives to offer articles that interest friars as well as friends of Holy Name Province. Readers of HNP Today can suggest a topic by emailing communications@hnp.org. Articles are posted in the Provincial News section of HNP.org throughout each week.
Non-HNP members who wish to receive the biweekly e-newsletter by email should fill out the subscription form.
News about the friars and their ministries can also be found on Facebook and Twitter.
