"*" indicates required fields Pope Francis launched the Synod on Synodality in October 2021 as a worldwide undertaking during which Catholics were encouraged to submit feedback to their local dioceses. While the Synodal Process was supposed to conclude next year, Pope Francis announced last month that he was extending the Synod on Synodality to 2024 in order to have a more relaxed period of discernment. “The fruits of the Synodal Process underway are many, but so that they might come to full maturity, it is necessary not to be in a rush,” the pope said during the announcement. Through the Synodal Process, Pope Francis aims to foster a lived experience of discernment, participation, and co-responsibility, where a diversity of gifts is brought together for the Church's mission in the world.
