Harvest Festival to Launch Milestone Celebration of Holy Angels in N.J.

LITTLE FALLS, N. J. — To kick off a commemoration of its 125th anniversary, Our Lady of the Holy Angels parish here is holding a two-day Harvest Festival this weekend.  Visitors will find games, refreshments, a petting zoo, and other entertainment on Sept. 28 and 29.  See the parish’s Web site for information.

In the weekly  bulletin,  The Angelus, pastor Robert Sandoz, OFM,  has introduced readers to the parish’s new logo and theme – Founded in Faith, Growing in Spirit.

Holy Angels is just one of several Holy Name parishes commemorating major milestones.

St. Joseph’s Parish in East Rutherford, N.J., is holding a celebration of its135th anniversary the weekend of Oct. 6.  In nearby Paterson, N.J., St. Bonaventure parish is planning events for 2008 to commemorate its 130th anniversary.

In northern Virginia, St. Francis of Assisi Church, Triangle, is concluding its year-long 50th anniversary celebration during the weekend of Nov. 3.

In New York City, St. Stephen of Hungary Church on East 82nd Street will celebrate its 85th anniversary next year.
