HNP Communications Around the Province

HARTFORD, Conn. – The Province’s St. Patrick-St. Anthony Church here is holding an annual appeal to raise money for repairs to both the church and the Franciscan Center for Urban Ministry.

According to an Oct. 26 bulletin distributed electronically by the parish, St. Patrick-St. Anthony wants to be sure that it is “able to not only properly maintain our beautiful church, but to also maintain the Franciscan Center for Urban Ministry and the many programs under the guidance of both the church and the center.”

The e-publication also described the recent First Friday Club gathering, where parishioner Tom Sliney told of his spiritual journey to Haiti on an immersion experience to the church’s sister parish in Zoranje, Haiti. A  prayer service was held  Nov. 5 for the people of  Zoranje.

Information about the sister parish of St. Anthony-St. Patrick  can be found on the parish’s recently-redesigned Web site, according to Michael Jones, OFM.

The parish’s slogan is, “open hearts, open minds, open door,” according to the site Web site. On the site, pastorJames Hynes, OFM, said, “It is an honor and privilege to serve both as pastor and director of this dynamic community committed to a life of faith and service to our brothers and sisters.”
