EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. — The cover of the fall issue of The Anthonian, the quarterly publication of St. Anthony’s Guild, carries the tagline: “St. Anthony’s Guild new director looks forward to meeting with members.”
It is the first issue produced since David Convertino, OFM, assumed his role as director of the guild. He was appointed by the Provincial Council earlier this year, replacing Joseph Hertel, OFM.
In a letter on the inside cover, Provincial Minister John O’Connor, OFM, shares his excitement for David’s joining the guild team.
“Fr. David comes to the Guild with great enthusiasm,” John wrote. “Over his years of outstanding service he has demonstrated his talents and creativeness in any number of leadership capacities. … I have great confidence that with his skills and talents he will move St. Anthony’s Guild in new directions.”
In addition to a brief history of the guild and information about the promotion of Octavio Duran, OFM, the fall issue also includes:
• “Still Going Strong” about the dedicated work of Secular Franciscans and SFO spiritual director Richard Trezza, OFM
• “Through the Franciscan Lens” highlighting the solemn profession and diaconate ordination of Stephen DeWitt, OFM, and Daniel Horan, OFM
• “9/11 x 10: What can we say on this anniversary,” a reflection by Russell Becker, OFM, of Tokyo
• “My Franciscan Journey” by Robert Frazzetta, OFM, of Butler, N.J.
Past issues of The Anthonian can be found on the guild’s website.
