ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — Friars from Our Lady of Guadalupe Province celebrated Mass on Oct. 17 with the Poor Clares in Roswell, N.M., as part of the closing of the year of celebration of the 800th anniversary of the profession of St. Clares. Photos of the day appear in the fall issue of The Padres’ Trail newsletter, which editor Fr. Joseph Nelson, OFM, asked to be shared with the friars of all provinces of the OFM English-speaking Conference.
The issue also includes photos of the Sept. 16 jubilee celebration and articles about Br. Maynard Shurley, OFM, being featured in St. Anthony Messengermagazine, a new series from the Franciscan Institute Publications and the annual meeting of the mission directors of the ESC provinces. This newsletter also announced the appointment of Fr. Mark Schroeder, OFM, of St. Barbara Province as the joint JPIC director for both St. Barbara and Our Lady of Guadalupe provinces.
Next week, the leaders of this southwest-based province will join the provincial council members of the other English-speaking Conference provinces at a meeting in Milwaukee, Wis.
The fall newsletter, along with back issues of The Padres Trail, can be found on the website of this 27-year-old province.
