BOSTON — Gordon Murphy, OFM, 83, a professed Franciscan friar for 55 years and a priest for 52 years, died Oct. 4 at New England Medical Center here. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Oct. 8 at St. Anthony Shrine in Boston at which Provincial Vicar Dominic Monti, OFM, presided.
Gordon, a native of Binghamton, N.Y., served as treasurer of St. Anthony Shrine before his 1996 retirement. More biographical details will be available in a future issue of this newsletter.
