SILVER SPRING, Md. – Three friars in formation – Scott Brookbank, OFM,Zachary Elliott, OFM, and Erick Lopez, OFM — recently received a financial gift from the Knights of Columbus at St. Francis of Assisi Church in Raleigh, N.C.
The gift of three checks of $500 each was presented Jan. 21 to the friars at Holy Name College in Silver Spring, Md., to support them in their studies, according to Mark Reamer, OFM, pastor of St. Francis, where each of the friars has spent a summer internship. On behalf of the parish, the knights expressed their appreciation to the friars for the gift of their vocation, Mark said.
