NEW YORK — The July-August 2007 issue of Rite, a liturgical magazine published bimonthly by the Liturgy Training Publications, the organ of the Office of Worship of the Archdiocese of Chicago, features several Holy Name friars.

The entire issue is about the Order of Christian Funerals. The cover depicts the reception of the body at the back of St. Francis of Assisi Church, West 31st Street in Manhattan with John Felice presiding and Albert Aldrich assisting. Timothy Shreenan places the Book of the Gospels on the casket.

The inside front cover pictures the same moment at the back of St. Bonaventure Church in Paterson, N.J., with Kevin Mullen presiding and Christopher Coccia and Daniel Grigassy assisting. The same picture is replicated larger on page 14, and on page 13 a picture shows the choir loft of the closing of the casket just before Severin Brady’s funeral Mass. The Rite of Committal with Kevin and Chris leading the prayers is shown on page 16 with Kevin Cronin, Dan Grigassy, and Sev’s family and friends looking on.

On page 22, the procession of the body from the back of St. Anthony Church, Butler, N.J., is depicted with John O’Connor presiding and Bernard Creighton assisting.

“It is noteworthy that nowhere are the places or persons depicted in the pictures identified,” according to Dan.

A copy of this issue of Rite, vol. 38, no. 4 (July-August 2007) may be purchased for $5 from Liturgy Training Publications, 1800 North Hermitage Ave., Chicago IL 60622.
