Friars will reacquaint themselves with St. Francis and St. Clare during the next set of Provincial retreats.
Fr. Jack Rathschmidt, OFM Cap., a member of the Capuchin Province of St. Mary based in New England, will lead the 2013 retreats, titled “Walking with Francis and Clare in the Presence of God.” Throughout his life as a friar, Fr. Jack has been principally involved in the ministry of initial formation, and is currently working in preaching ministry. He also provides assistance to his province’s development office.
Previously, Fr. Jack served as provincial minister for his Province. He recently celebrated his golden jubilee as a friar. For the past two summers, he has facilitated the formation roundtable as part of the Franciscan Institute summer program.
The 2013 retreats will take place from Jan. 21 to 24 at St. Anthony Friary in St. Petersburg, Fla., and from Feb. 4 to 7 at St. Anthony Friary in Butler, N.J. The retreat will cost $200. Checks must be made payable to St. Anthony Friary. To make a reservation, friars are asked to contact James Toal, OFM, in St. Petersburg, or Richard McFeely, OFM, in Butler.
