LANGHORNE, Pa. — A celebration of St. Clare will begin with an 8:15 a.m. Mass on Aug. 8 at the Monastery of St. Clare, with Cardinal Justin Rigali, archbishop of Philadelphia, as celebrant.
The Triduum and Mass in honor of St. Clare, hosted by the Poor Clares, will continue with night prayer and a novena on Sunday and Monday evening, and a Transitus on Aug. 10, culminating with 9:30 a.m. Mass on Aug. 11, the feast of the solemnity of St. Clare, with homilist Fr. Tom Betz, OFM Cap.
Other commemorations of St. Clare are being held by Franciscan communities. The Province’s St. Clare Parish in Buffalo, N.Y., is hosting a festival this weekend and in October will offer a program about its patron saint.
