Franciscan Peacemaking Training to Guide Ministries

HNP Communications Around the Province

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Plans for the Engage Franciscan Peacemaking training program next month are progressing well. At least 22 friars and partners in ministry from Holy Name Province will participate in the Sept. 7 – 9 program.

According to Russell Testa, director of the Province’s Office of Justice, Peace and Integrity of Creation, who is  facilitating the event, attendees are planning to use this program to help the Province answer its own invitation to be a “peacemaking province.”  “This is an exciting opportunity that you and your ministry are bringing into our violence-weary world,” said Testa.

The training program will take place at Washington Theological Union.  It is the second of two sessions being held this summer to train facilitators to lead the Franciscan Peacemaking program in their ministries and parishes.

Testa, who has provided to attendees resources and graphics to help publicize the Engage Franciscan Peacemaking program, said he is looking forward to hosting the facilitators who are coming to Washington, D.C. He can be contacted at 202-541-5245 and JPIC@HNP.ORG
