‘Franciscan Idol’

HNP Communications Around the Province

The Antoniano – a Franciscan media ministry in Bologna, Italy – each year organizes a concert for Italian and European television called Zecchino d’Oro (Golden Coin). The concert, now in its 49th year, presents children singing 14 songs. Seven of these are Italian, and the other seven are one from each of seven different countries. This year, the U.S. was chosen as one of those seven countries.

The Antoniano is searching for a child singer and an original song to be sung as the U.S. contribution. The child, and an accompanying adult, will be flown to Italy for a rehearsal and again for the performance. The Antoniano will pay all costs, including lodging, meals and airfare for both the child and their companion.
