Fall Events at WTU

WASHINGTON — With its focus on celebrating its mission, this year the Washington Theological Union is hosting a variety of events, which will “make the 2011-12 academic year an exciting one of celebration” according to Fr. James Greenfield, OSFS.

Fr. Greenfield is chairman of the WTU Board of Trustees and provincial superior of the Wilmington-Philadelphia province of Oblates of St. Francis de Sales.

The WTU’s fall schedule includes four events:

  • Faith in Action National Conference: The New Evangelization (Sept. 30-Oct. 1) — Lectures and workshops by dynamic speakers to provide inspiration in ministry
  • Salesian Charism Night (Oct. 5) — An original collaborator in the union, the Oblates of St. Francis de Sales host an evening celebrating Salesian Spirituality in Ministry and Leadership
  • An Evening at Daylesford Abbey (Nov. 6) — A sentimental look at WTU’s history through archived pictures and graduate testimonials
  • Franciscan Lecture and Charism Celebration (Nov. 16) — Fr. Steven McMichael, OFM Conv., presents “The World Day of Prayer for Peace (1986-2011) in Franciscan Historical Perspective”

A recent letter publicizing these and other upcoming events described WTU’s need for financial support. A list of four giving levels was provided.

“All donations will be used to underwrite the expense of our events and commemorative publication,” said Fr. Greenfield.
