The Franciscan friars of the United States of America are seeking a national digital media director to maintain the American OFM friars’ digital presence.

This full-time position will include maintaining the website usfranciscans.org, promoting topics and interests relevant to the U.S. Franciscans experience, and curating and distributing content for target audiences. The director will also serve on various committees, work with the U.S. Digital Media Committee to help shape and focus the Franciscan message, and collaborate with communicators from the seven OFM provinces in the United States.

An ideal candidate will be familiar with the Franciscan charism, as well as the work and ministry of the friars. Applicants should have strong interpersonal, writing and speaking skills, be comfortable using social media tools such as Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn, and be familiar with basic themes affecting Franciscan life in the U.S., such as Church issues, justice and peace, and current events. He or she should be able to collaborate with colleagues from remote locations.

In Western New York, St. Bonaventure University is hiring a minister in residence. This representative of University Ministries will live in a dormitory on campus and assist in planning and executing times of liturgy, prayer, reflection and meditation in the residence halls. The minister in residence will also provide assistance and pastoral care to students in crisis, help students explore the intersection of faith, reason and action, and act as a role model for the campus community.

A bachelor’s degree is required, as well as one or two years of related experience in ministry or leadership. This is a part-time position that includes evening and nighttime hours. A successful candidate will understand the Catholic and Franciscan traditions, ethics and values, and will be able to communicate and support the Franciscan experience and spirituality.
