HNP Communications Around the Province

The Provincial Office has become aware recently of several job opportunities. One is at an HNP ministry and another is at a Franciscan province on the West Coast.

In North Carolina, Immaculate Conception Parish in Durham is seeking an operations director. This full-time position is responsible for leadership of all administrative, financial, personnel, facilities, stewardship, technology and communications of the parish and school. The successful candidate should be a self-starter and strategic thinker. This person will advise the pastor in all aspects of parish operations. A related degree with management experience is required. The ideal candidate will be an active, prayerful, confirmed Catholic committed to a life of faith in Jesus Christ and dedicated to collaborative ministry and an advancement of the parish vision, according to an announcement in the IC Parish bulletin.  Familiarity with the Spanish language and fund-raising experience are considered a plus. In California, the Franciscan friars of St. Barbara Province based in Oakland are looking to hire a development associate to help assist in carrying out the implementation of fund development activities for the entire province. The successful candidate will possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail and the ability to multi-task. He or she must be self-motivated, confident, and have the ability to meet deadlines and exercise creativity. Compensation will be commensurate with the employee’s experience and qualifications. Attendees will “learn time-saving tricks to identify and attract hiring managers to immediately call you for an interview, plus tap into the hidden job market.” Colón has 30 years of experience as a human resource manager on Wall Street.
