Several open positions at ministries affiliated with Holy Name Province have come to the attention of the Communications Office. One is with Hilbert College in Hamburg, N.Y., one is with a monastery in Sullivan County, N.Y., and one is with St. Francis of Assisi Parish in Raleigh, N.C.
Hilbert College Campus Ministry
In Western New York, Hilbert College, where Gregory Jakubowicz, OFM, is college chaplain, is searching for a director of mission integration and campus ministry. A full-time, 12-month position, the director will be responsible for developing a deepened awareness of the school’s Catholic Franciscan mission. He or she will implement and integrate this mission into the decisions, policies, procedures, and programs of the college.
The director will also serve the liturgical, pastoral and spiritual needs of the college community, particularly its students, in a manner that aligns with that of the Catholic Church. He or she will plan, coordinate and execute mission-based programs, ongoing formation programs, liturgical activities, retreats, service projects and Masses. Supervisory responsibility will be shared with the college chaplain.
Ideal candidates will be supportive of the Catholic faith tradition, experienced with facilitating group discussions and faith-sharing activities, and have the ability to establish rapport with a diverse population as well as experience with budget oversight. A master’s degree in divinity, theology, pastoral ministry or a related field is required, as well as two years of campus ministry experience or five years of ministry experience in other settings.

Leadership for Mountain Retreat, Monastery
South of Buffalo, Mt. Irenaeus is seeking an executive director to provide vision and strategic planning for the 30-year-old Franciscan Mountain Retreat. This new staff member will supervise day-to-day operations of the Mountain, working closely with the president, resident friars, board of trustees, staff and students from nearby St. Bonaventure University. as staff and students, according to an informational flyer that can be displayed at parishes and schools. In Sullivan County, the Monastery of Our Lady in Beatitude is seeking a chaplain to replace the priest who is leaving soon after Easter. The monastery, part of the Monastic Family at Bethlehem of the Assumption of the Virgin and of Saint Bruno, is located in Livingston Manor, N.Y., roughly two and one-half hours from New York City. Sr. Amena Figeat, the community’s leader, asks that any friar who is interested in the position to contact her at 845-439-4300. Justice and Peace at St. Francis Parish
In Raleigh, N.C., St. Francis of Assisi Parish is searching for a justice and peace specialist.
The parish “is looking for someone who is excited about increasing the reach of our justice and peace ministries through strong partnerships with our parishioners and collaboration with other staff,” according to the job description. “This position requires an ability to teach and facilitate small groups, communication skills that inspire others, and an interest in matters of social justice.”
The ideal candidate will be well-versed in Catholic Social Teaching. Experience working with youth and families is a plus. This is a part-time position that includes retirement and vacation benefits.
