In New Jersey, Holy Name Friary in Ringwood – the Province’s skilled nursing home – is seeking several healthcare professionals. Both per diem registered nurses and certified nursing assistants are needed, along with a full-time CNA, according to Patti Kane, director of nursing. The facility is seeking “compassionate, caring and dedicated individuals” to be part of its team. Holy Name Friary, where Richard McFeely, OFM, is guardian, offers “an excellent salary and benefits,” said Kane. Those interested should call Kane at 973-962-7200 ext. 205 or fax resumes to 973-962-9766.

In New York City, Manhattan College – a Catholic liberal arts college in the Bronx, just 10 miles from midtown Manhattan – is seeking a chaplain to work in the Campus Ministry and Social Action Department. According to the job description on the college’s website, candidates should have a master of divinity degree, be an ordained Roman Catholic priest, and should have demonstrated experience of working with young people for at least two years, with higher education experience preferred. The chaplain will celebrate weekly Sunday and weekday liturgies during the academic year as well as other on special occasions, and collaborate with the director of music ministry in preparation of liturgies. Manhattan College was founded in 1853 and has roughly 3,900 students. This campus chaplaincy could be suitable to a friar who would like to live at the proposed new interprovincial four-person fraternity two miles away at the College of Mount St. Vincent, where Christopher Keenan, OFM, is chaplain. The fraternity, which would be established in July 2017 if approved, is situated on the college campus among socio-economically, racially and ethnically diverse young adults. Those interested in joining the proposed fraternity should contact Chris at fdnychaplainchris@yahoo.com.

Those interested in the position must apply online, through Manhattan College’s website.

Volunteer positions are also available at organizations affiliated with the Province.
