An ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications or a related field, as well as at least one year of work experience in a communications environment. Qualifications include basic website and design skills, knowledge of AP style, and support of the mission of the Franciscans. Familiarity with the Roman Catholic Church is valuable.

This position will be located at the Province’s headquarters in New York City, though the possibility exists for the job to be done remotely. For more information, or to submit a resume, contact Jocelyn Thomas, HNP director of communications, at 646-473-0265 ext. 321 or communications@hnp.org.

In Western New York, St. Bonaventure University is searching for a minister in residence. As a representative of university ministries in residence halls, this person will collaborate with residence life staff and other areas of the university to initiate, plan and execute times of liturgy, prayer, reflection and meditation in the residence halls. This part-time position will require the minister to be present to the students in the residence halls, both on a formal and informal basis, to provide advice and pastoral care when needed.

An ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree, with one or two years related experience in ministry or leadership. This person will understand the Catholic and Franciscan traditions, ethics and values, and will work with students of all faith traditions to connect them to the events, programs and service opportunities offered by the university.

Application review will begin immediately and continue until the position is filled. A cover letter, resume and three references should be sent to jzimmer@sbu.edu.

Readers who would like to share employment opportunities at Provincial ministries or at schools, parishes and organizations affiliated with HNP are welcomed to provide job information to the communications office. The previous Employment Opportunities story featured positions at St. Mary’s Parish in Pompton Lakes, N.J., and at the Franciscan Mission Service.
