Franciscan deaths

The Province is mourning the recent passing of two friars and four Franciscan sisters.

Two members of the Franciscan Sisters of Peace, based in Haverstraw, N.Y., have died: Sr. Marcella McHale, FSP, 84, who died on May 30, and Sr. Catherine Ryan, FSP, 87, who died Aug. 16.

Fr. Ramon Frias, OFM Cap., 79, a member of the Capuchin Franciscan Friars of the Province of St. Mary, died on Aug. 30 in White Plains, N.Y. He was a graduate of the Franciscan Institute at St. Bonaventure University.

Fr. Andre McGrath, OFM, 78, of St. John the Baptist Province, died Sept. 8 at the friary of St. Mary of the Angels in New Orleans, La.

Sr. Charlene Taeschler, FMSC, 96, a member of the Franciscan Missionary Sisters of the Sacred Heart, died on Sept. 8 in Peekskill, N.Y.

Sr. Angela Patrice Power, OSF, 100, a member of the Sisters of St. Francis of Philadelphia, died Sept. 12 at Assisi House in Aston, Pa.
