Deaths in Franciscan Communities

During recent weeks, a friar and several Franciscan sisters have passed to eternal life.

Sr. Rose Monica Katusz, OSF, 68, a member of the Sisters of St. Francis of Philadelphia, died on May 30 at Assisi House in Aston, Pa.

Sr. Mary Francis Nolin, OSC, 78, died May 31, at the Monastery of St. Clare in Andover, Mass. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated June 3.

Fr. Gil Wohler, OFM, 80, a member of St. John the Baptist Province, died on June 2 in Cincinnati.

Sr. Madeleine Martel, OSF, 83, a member of the Franciscan Sisters of Allegany, died on June 12 in Allegany, N.Y.

Sister Frances Will, OSF, 90, a member of the Sisters of St. Francis of Philadelphia, died on June 20 at Assisi House. A wake service will be held there at 9:30 a.m. on June 26, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at Our Lady of Angels Cemetery in Aston.
