The Province is mourning the recent passing of two friars of the English-speaking Conference, and a Franciscan sister.
Br. Gregory Havel, OFM, 68, of Assumption BVM Province, died on Feb. 7 in Pleasant Prairie, Wis. He had been working as the safety director at Scherrer Construction Company of Burlington, Wis., at the time of his death.
Fr. Jonathan Foster, OFM, 85, of Sacred Heart Province, died on Feb. 11 in Manitowoc, Wis. He spent most of his religious life in education and retreat ministry.
Sr. Julia Tierney, OSF, 88, died on Feb. 15 in Media, Pa. She had been a professed member of the Sisters of St. Francis of Philadelphia for 69 years.
