The Province is mourning the recent passing of two friars and an Allegany sister.
Sr. Victoria Masterpaul, OSF, 83, a member of the Franciscan Sisters of Allegany, N.Y., died on April 15 in Allegany. She had been a member of the Province’s original Wellness Committee. John O’Connor, OFM, celebrated the Mass of Christian Burial on April 23 at the St. Elizabeth Motherhouse in Allegany.
Fr. Kenan Osborne, OFM, 88, a member of St. Barbara Province, died on April 19 in Santa Barbara, Calif. Obit link He is a past-president and dean of the Franciscan School of Theology and professor in philosophical and systematic theology at the Graduate Theological Union, Berkeley, Calif. He is a former president of the Catholic Theological Society of America and author of numerous books.
Fr. Francis Hanudel, OFM, 73, a member of Immaculate Conception Province, died on April 21 in New York City. He was a native of Passaic, N.J.
