The Province is mourning the passing of five Franciscan sisters.

Three members of the Franciscan Sisters of Allegany, N.Y., died recently at St. Elizabeth Motherhouse in Allegany. They are Sr. Patricia Friel, OSF, 83, who died on Sept. 3; Sr. Marie Celeste Sullivan, OSF, 87, who died Sept.7; and Sr. Kathleen Francis Honc, OSF, 85, who died Sept. 9.

Sr. Jeanne Marie Kearney, IHM, 78, formerly known as Sr. Coletta, died on Sept. 1 in Scranton, Pa. The member of the Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary served for more than 45 years in Lima, Peru, and worked with several HNP friars.

Sr. Anthony Celine O’Leary, OSF, 93, a member of the Sisters of St. Francis of Philadelphia died in Aston, Pa., died Sept. 2.
